MEASUREMENT AND LEARNING
  ➖

This cooperative is about improving what we measure in our communities. We work to identify what can help us thrive together, address inequities, and support racial justice across generations. This cooperative is about changing what we measure to reflect the change we want to see in the world in partnership with communities, change-makers, and federal agencies.

ABOUT WIN MEASURES

Ever wonder how we could:

• Be the wealthiest country in the world yet have one of the highest rates of child poverty?

• Have the “best” health care system in the world yet expect our children to live shorter lives than we will?

• Have the worst inequities in health outcomes in the developed world?

The Well Being In the Nation (WIN) measures help us to understand why.  They are our first national consensus measures of population health and social determinants.  100+ organizations and communities, including community residents, contributed to their development. The National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics (NCVHS) supported the process and the outcome.  WIN measures are recommended for inclusion in Healthy People 2030.  To learn more, go to www.winmeasures.org where you can see the data for your community.

STRATEGIC PRIORITIES

Implementation

  • Support agencies and communities to use the WIN measures.

  • Make data available to communities in a way that works for them.

  • Support integration of WIN measures into policy frameworks, such as Healthy People 2030.

  • Update the WIN measures based on learning in the field.

Research and Learning

  • Build a multi-center research partnership to advance learning about

    health, well-being, and equity.

  • Promote equity in measurement and research.

  • Develop a learning measurement system

    across sectors.
